Whats Biting:
There have been several days with a blue water edge around 700 feet with some floating debris. This has produce some excellent mahi fishing with multiple schools of fish being seen throughout the day. Some bigger fish in the mix up to 15 lbs.
Where:
Off the coast of Fort Lauderdale in roughly 700 ft
Conditions:
Mild 2′-3′ seas with a east wind
Technique:
Trolling ballyhoo and bonita strips with lure combinations. Trolled at 7-8 knots along the edge and around debris producing multiple double headers.
Tackle:
Talica 25’s on conventional trolling set ups
25 lb mono line on the reels
50-60 lb leader on lures
Illander and Seawitches paired with ballyhoo and bonita strips
